The summer holiday is around the corner. When you go on a trip, how do you get around, by train, air plane or car ? I often use the highway to travel, so I looked up information on highways in Shizuoka.　 In 1965, the Toumei highway opened. The number of cars on the highway gradually increased. This caused heavy traffic jams, so to eliminate congestion , the Shin Toumei highway opened in 2012. It took 17 years to build the highway. Surprisingly, 60 ％ of that is tunnels. Thanks to those tunnels, we can get to many places easily. I hope the convenience of these highways can help you enjoy your summer holidays.

間もなく夏休みです。みなさんは旅行に行く時、どのようにして行かれますか、電車、飛行機、それとも車ですか？　私は旅行でよく高速道路を使うので、静岡の高速道路について調べてみました。1965年に東名高速道路が開通しました。徐々に車が混み始め、それが原因で交通渋滞が発生したため、渋滞を解消する為に新東名高速道路が2012年に開通しました。完成までに17年かかりました。驚く事に道路の60％がトンネルです。それらトンネルのおかげで私達はあちこちに簡単に行けるようになりました。便利なこれらの高速道路により、みなさんが夏休みを楽しめる事を願います。
