Last month in our adult classes we spent time on the topic of geographical features, and something that came up was all of the idioms related to geographical features! English is full of colorful expressions that use the language of the land to describe people and situations. Here are a few popular "geo-gems" you can start using today:

Making a Mountain out of a Molehill

This idiom is used when someone is exaggerating a small problem and treating it as a major crisis. A molehill is a tiny mound of dirt created by a small animal called a mole, and a mountain is... well, a mountain! The difference is huge.
