Clear, and it's closely related cousin, transparent. Clear could be argued to be the complete absence of color. The "color" of glass, water, air, etc. To fully understand something is to understand it clearly.
It's close cousin 'transparent' may contain color but objects and colors behind it are still visible. Similarly to the use of clear, when it comes to understanding, a company can be transparent. This means to not hide anything from employees or at times shareholders or customers/clients. The advantage of a company being transparent is that it helps explain and give reasons behind decisions that are being made. This also builds trust within the company and gives employees a stronger sense of security as they understand where the company is headed. It also allows employees to feel more of part of the company and not just a cog in the machine.
