The air is starting to become a little more frigid and dry. The Japanese summer is finally slowly fading away, though sometimes it feels its not fading fast enough. One day in October its feels so hot and humid, but then randomly the next day it becomes frigid in the early mornings. It becomes so cold that I finally can bring out my fashionable jackets that have been hanging in my closet for the last 5-6 months. For me I am used to the cold, due to the freezing climate I originate from. The weather in my home is very similar to the weather in Hokkaido. As I walk through the cool streets of Hamamatsu, I cant happen to laugh a little under my breath seeing people in full winter jackets and wearing scarfs with gloves on. The air in Hamamatsu isnt all too cold, however combined with the wind, it can feel much more arctic. I am much more grateful this year that the weather got chilly, I feel that the weather with the last couple of years felt so warm, and the summers so hot. I am not too excited for summer, its not my favorite season but I do find some quality of life things to do during the summer time that you cant do in fall.

私自身は、もともととても寒い地域の出身なので、このくらいの寒さには慣れています。故郷の気候は北海道の天気にとてもよく似ています。浜松の涼しい街を歩いていると、真冬用のコートにマフラーや手袋まで身につけている人たちを見て、思わず小さく笑ってしまいます。浜松の空気自体はそこまで寒いわけではありませんが、風が加わると一気に北極のような寒さに感じることもあります。

ここ数年は暖かい日が多く、夏もとても暑く感じていたので、今年はこうして気温が下がってきたことをより一層ありがたく感じています。夏はあまり好きな季節ではありませんが、秋にはできないような、夏ならではの楽しみがあるのも事実です
