This week, the kids went to the INCL farm to dig up sweet potatoes. With our gloves on, we loosened the dirt under the plant. Then the kids took turns pulling up the potatoes from the ground! When the dirt was too dry and it was hard to pull, I used a till to loosen the dirt. In the end we got about 25 sweet potatoes!

We also cleaned up some plastic from other plants and took out some posts. We learned that taking care of a farm takes a lot of work.

I wonder what everyone will make with the sweet potatoes they took home... Sweet potato fries? Miso soup with pork and sweet potato? Sweet potato casserole? The possibilities are endless!
