2021年3月に東京から静岡に引っ越しました。それ以前は埼玉に住んでいました。 2つの地域間の距離は約180kmしかないので、天気と気候はほぼ同じだと思いました。しかし、それはかなり異なっているようです。たとえば、ここでは平均気温が間違いなく高くなっています。確かに太平洋からはかなり一定の海風が吹いていて涼しく感じることもありますが、これまでのところ、静岡は関東地方よりも快適だと感じています。
毎年冬、東京に住んでいた頃、11月に冬用タイヤを装着し、4月に通常のタイヤに戻しました。しかし、どうやら私はここでこれを行う必要はありません。静岡県北部の山岳地帯を除けば、降雪量はほとんどありません。
しかし、霧は別の問題です。基本的に埼玉でも東京でも見たことがありませんが、今年は浜北とその周辺で定期的に体験しています。
特に埼玉県北部では、洪水も毎年発生していました。
とにかく、静岡や岐阜、長野などの山に車を運転しない限り、スタッドレスタイヤは必要ありませんが、車にはフォグランプを取り付ける必要があります。

The climate of Shizuoka

Did you know that Shizuoka has the 11th highest average temperature of Japan's 47 prefectures?

I moved to Shizuoka from Tokyo in March 2021. before that I lived in Saitama. The distance between the two regions is only around 180 km, so I assumed the weather and climate would be almost the same. But it seems quite different. For example the average temperature is definitely higher here. Certainly there is a fairly constant ocean wind coming from the Pacific, which sometimes makes it feel cooler, but so far, I feel that Shizuoka is more comfortable than the Kanto region.

Every winter, when I was living in Tokyo, I had my car fitted with winter tires in November, then changed them back to regular ones in April. But, apparently I don't need to do this here. Except for the northern mountain districts, Shizuoka has very little snowfall.

Fog, however is another matter. I basically never saw it in either Saitama or Tokyo, but so far this year I have experienced it regularly where I live in Hamakita, and surrounding areas.

Flooding was also an annual occurrence, particularly in Northern Saitama.

So, anyway, I no longer need studless tires unless I drive to the mountains of Shizuoka or Gifu, Nagano etc, but should have fog lamps fitted to my car.
