This Golden week was the most relaxing I have had in a long time. This year I was able to travel around my local city and enjoy the festivals within the city of Hamamatsu. It was truly a wonderful experience for me and is nothing like I have done before in the past. In Hamamatsu they have a large Parade after the flying of the kites within the city where you can get a lot of delicious foods and drinks. The festival goes on for 2-3 days and is such a great experience where there are very few foreigners. As an American, I felt that it was the first time I was able to dive in deep within Japanese culture without having to worry about other foreigners causing a mockery of the culture I come from. Overall, I really enjoyed the festivities and recommend to all people of all ages to join the Hamamatsu experience of the Golden week festivals, you will not be disappointed.
