In Japan, the kitchens have an empty area when people can put a stove. In the U.S., the stoves are almost always already installed in the apartment or house. Also, U.S. stoves are attached to a convection oven for baking. There are usually four burners (places to put the pots and pans) on the stove rather than two. Having a large oven is necessary for cooking large turkeys during Thanksgiving!
