When people think about the United Kingdom, they often think of England first. However, the UK is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.

Wales is located in the west of Great Britain. It has a population of about 3 million people and its capital city is Cardiff. Wales is famous for its beautiful mountains, green countryside, and long coastline. It is also known for having more castles per square mile than any other country in Europe.

The Welsh flag is easy to recognize because it has a red dragon on it. The dragon is an important symbol of Wales and has been part of Welsh culture for hundreds of years.

People in Wales speak English, but many people also speak Welsh. Welsh is one of the oldest languages in Europe and is taught in schools across the country. Visitors can often see road signs written in both English and Welsh.

Sport is also an important part of Welsh life. Rugby is especially popular, and the national team has passionate supporters throughout the country. Football is also growing in popularity.

Wales may be a small country, but it has a rich culture, beautiful scenery, and a strong national identity. In future articles, we will explore Welsh food, history, famous people, and places to visit.
