Summer is finally here! July in Shizuoka means beautiful beaches, festivals, and the start of the long-awaited summer vacation. At INCL Eikaiwa, we believe summer is the best time to dive into English and make unforgettable memories!

1. Make a Wish for Tanabata (七夕に願いを込めて)

On July 7th, we celebrate Tanabata (the Star Festival). It’s a wonderful tradition to write our wishes on "tanzaku" papers. Why not try writing your wish in English this year?

7月7日は七夕ですね。短冊に願い事を書く素敵な伝統行事です。今年は英語で願い事を書いてみませんか？

Useful English Phrases for Tanabata:

• "I wish to speak English fluently!" (英語がペラペラになりますように！)
• "I want to travel abroad someday." (いつか海外旅行に行きたいな。)
• "I hope everyone stays healthy." (みんなが健康でいられますように。)

2. Summer Vocabulary: Beach and Sun (夏のボキャブラリー：海と太陽)

Shizuoka has amazing spots like Lake Hamana and the Pacific coast. When you head to the water, take these English words with you!

静岡には浜名湖や太平洋沿岸など、素晴らしいスポットがたくさんあります。海や湖に出かけるときは、この英語を使ってみましょう！

• Sunscreen: 日焼け止め
• Shells: 貝殻
• Flip-flops: ビーチサンダル
• "It's scorching hot today!" (今日は焼けるように暑いね！)
